Ron Raasch, is a retired Architect, living in Powell Butte, Oregon where his studio overlooks the historic Three Springs Ranch, highlighting the beautiful Central Oregon landscape. Inspiration comes in many forms; music, weather, dreams, etc.; which are represented in the mutiple mediums he uses for his style and voice. Each subject dictates a medium that he feels best represents it.
Pursuit of art came naturally after Ron retired. He has attended over 20 workshops given by Modern Masters of Art in varied mediums of his choosing. Being a founding member of PAPO (Plein Air Painters of Oregon) allowed him to hone his skills in varied locations. Ron also enjoyed creating the political cartoons for the Central Oregonian Newspaper in Prineville for over 11 years. His diverse style, subject matter, humor, bold colors and use of many mediums makes his art unique and enjoyable for everyone.
A signature member of the (ISAP) International Society of Acrylic Painters, a life member of (WSO) Watercolor Society of Oregon, life member of (NWWS) Northwest Watercolor Society, as well as a member of (NPS) Northwest Pastel Society, (PWS) Pennsylvainia Watercolor Society, (NWS) National Watercolor Society and (PAPO) Plein Air Painters of Oregon all keep him busy with online challenges, member shows and paint outs with his groups.
Commissions are Ron's speciality. Portriats of people and pets, old trucks, homes, landscapes and animals are all very popular. Businesses have benifited from his development of original works for advertising.
Original works of art, artist's proofs, signed and numbered prints, and greeting cards are always available. Please visit Ron's web site and meet McCord, one of his original cartoon characters.
